More under-the-hood changes, beginning Friday, Feb. 9

Things have settled down, and it looks like we’re mostly back to normal. You may have noticed that once again points to us. This is a good thing for legacy purposes, but we’re still pushing forward with the new Stratepedia name.

We have one last technical detail to hammer out before we can stop losing sleep over all of this. Without boring you with lessons on how the underpinnings of the Internet work, I’ll just say that we’re beginning the process of switching registrars tomorrow evening. I’ve never done this before, and haven’t had much luck finding information on the process (other than various companies’ statements about why we should use them as our registrar). From what I’ve read, the process takes anywhere from five to seven days. I don’t anticipate any significant downtime, but if there is any, I hope it will occur over the weekend when we’ll have less traffic on the site.

I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this might cause, but we really need to do this sooner rather than later. Please e-mail me if you have any questions, or leave a comment below.

Thanks again for your patience during our transition.
