The screencasting software, Camtasia, was released for the Mac yesterday. It was previously only available for Microsoft Windows and
runs about $149 but you can get it right now for the low, low price of $99. Get more information and download a 30-day free trial version here.
Camtasia allows you to create professional tutorials and demonstrations fairly quickly. Get started by clicking the record button, capture your demonstration, and then edit the content. You can also incorporate audio and share it online. If you register the software you will get 2 GB of storage and bandwidth at Screencast.com. You can also export your creations to YouTube, a DVD, iTunes, etc.
I downloaded the trial version and was instantly impressed with the friendly interface. The editing process is similar to iMovie and provides just the right amount of options. To those of you familiar with the Windows version or in the process of learning the Mac version, tell us what you think!
