Google seeks to engage news readers with games

How do you make reading the news more engaging? Make a game of it, as Google is attempting to do by adding badges to Google News. As you read news about your favorite topics, you’ll receive a badge (as in merit badges). As you read more, you’ll “level up.” You can show your badges off to your friends, if you’d like, or use them to help create a custom newspaper catering to your own interests. Google News has more than 500 badges for you to earn, so start reading!
